To accommodate different driver skill levels a skill grading system is used. The Results & Points Co-ordinator applies a formula approved by the committee to calculate grade and all competitors are graded into one of six divisions. First time competitors will be reviewed by the Autocross Secretary and other officials to determine the appropriate grade in which they should be placed. Unknown first time competitors will be placed in Grade 3, and based on their performance during the day their grading will be evaluated and they will be advised of any grading change. This review will be conducted during the day of the event. Once competitors have been graded they will usually remain in that division until the end of the year.
If the process described above is not implemented during the first event a regrading should be conducted after the event. If the driver in question is upgraded they will be awarded the points they would have got if they had raced in that higher grade in that round.
Three different points system are used to determine awards for competitors and club members, Event Awards, Annual Club Awards and Club Members.
